In video publishing, the tables are the most consistent way to position objects on the screen. As you can’t know what kind of monitor is connected to users’ PCs, you should avoid the absolute objects positioning on the page. The best way to create well done E-books is to use tables where the width is defined by %, and so to create pages in a "reflowable" mode.
Reflowable pages are very important for small screens. Here a simple example with a simulation of a small screen:
to read the page above, with reflowable layout, you just scroll (or you will use the < Prev Next > buttons of your Reader).
Instead with this page:
things become boring... to read a non-reflowable layout on a small screen, you must continuously move the horizontal scroll bar.
