Create e-book, save a compact SFX .exe ebook
Creating a self extracting ebook (SFX = selfextracting or self-installing, i.e. an ebook that autorun when the user clicks the file, maybe after a download from the Internet) is very simple. See the “how to create and link pages
” tutorial first. Then, with “File >Save SFX ebook”, let’s create our ebook as .exe file.
The program will show a window where you can edit the license statement for the ebook:
Then it automatically creates the self extracting file.
That’s all. It’s really a snap!!!
Additionally, if you want you may distribute the AEH file. It can be read with the free EbooksReader (TM). It is analogous to PDF and Acrobat Reader (TM).
Please notice that is mandatory to place links between pages
: the end user can not use the "page number" facility, which is provided just as a quick means to switch between pages during development. With links you can control the reading path, and say move the user from page 0 to 45 and then to 3 and to 2. It is not necessary to adopt the structure of a regular printed book.
So be sure to put some content and some links in the cover page (the one shown with "Hypertext >Cover" menu) that is the first page shown to your readers. Then they can click on links to switch pages, so YOU decide what can be read by whom, and in what order.
